Lorano: A Modern Sans Serif for Campaigns

It was a late afternoon when I sat down to finalize the visuals for a seasonal sale campaign. The client wanted something bold, clean, and contemporary. I had a few fonts in mind, but as I scrolled through my design assets, I landed on Lorano. Its geometric structure and modern feel felt just right for the project.

What Is Lorano?

Lorano is a contemporary sans serif typeface designed by Hederae Type Foundry. It draws inspiration from rationalism and minimalism, offering a strong geometric form that feels both modern and timeless. The letterforms are precise, with subtle curves that add a touch of elegance without sacrificing clarity.

Its personality is clean and professional, making it ideal for campaigns that aim to communicate with precision and confidence. Lorano’s visual style works well in digital environments where simplicity and impact matter most.

Real-World Use in Social Media Graphics

When designing Instagram posts for a product teaser, I used Lorano for the headline. The font’s sharp edges and balanced proportions made it stand out against the background while maintaining readability. On mobile screens, it didn’t lose its clarity, which is crucial for social media content that’s often viewed on smaller devices.

I also used it for YouTube thumbnails. The font’s boldness helped the text pop, even when overlaid on images or video stills. For a Pinterest campaign, Lorano worked well as a title font, helping to draw attention in a fast-scrolling feed.

How Lorano Influences Visual Hierarchy

In a webinar banner, Lorano served as the main headline. Its weight and spacing made it easy to read from a distance, ensuring that the message was clear at a glance. When paired with a lighter weight for subtext, it created a strong visual hierarchy that guided the viewer’s eye naturally.

For email promotions, I used Lorano as a header font. Its clean lines and consistent stroke width gave the design a polished look. It also helped reinforce brand recognition across different channels, creating a cohesive visual identity.

Best Uses for Lorano

Lorano excels in short headlines, callouts, and logo-style text. It’s perfect for campaign labels, decorative titles, and display text. Its geometric nature makes it ideal for branding elements that need to be memorable and impactful.

However, it may not be the best choice for long paragraphs or dense information. In such cases, a more traditional sans serif or serif font would offer better readability. Lorano also isn’t suited for formal corporate communication if the tone requires a more traditional or conservative look.

Readability Tips for Digital Campaigns

When using Lorano on mobile screens, ensure there's enough contrast between the text and background. On dark backgrounds, the font maintains its clarity, but on light ones, it’s important to adjust the size and spacing for optimal legibility.

For small previews, like Instagram story overlays or YouTube thumbnails, use a heavier weight to maintain visibility. In fast-scrolling feeds, keep the text concise and avoid overloading the design with too many elements.

Font Pairing and Design Assets

Lorano pairs well with other clean sans serifs for a modern, unified look. For a contrast, it can be paired with a serif font to add warmth and depth. A script or handwritten font might work well for accents or secondary text, adding a personal touch without clashing.

Before using Lorano in any campaign, check the included styles, alternates, and ligatures. Ensure the file formats support your design needs, and confirm multilingual support if the campaign targets international audiences. Also, verify the commercial licensing to avoid any legal issues when using it in ads, templates, or branded content.

As I wrapped up the campaign, I knew Lorano had played a key role in shaping the visual identity. Its strength and versatility made it a reliable choice for various digital platforms, proving that a well-designed font can make a real difference in how a message is received and remembered.
